My 84-89 Cluster won't light up - What's Wrong?

Before starting this test, make sure the battery is charged, that all fuses are good, and that the cluster is connected to the wiring harness connector. 1)  Turn the key on (engine off).  What should happen at this point is the four illumination bulbs should light up full brightness, and all segments on the cluster should turn on.  After the first two seconds, the display should resolve into 0MPH/0RPM.  After that, the cluster starts responding to light from the photocell.  If the cluster is somewhere dark, the brightness may decrease.  If you're out in sunlit conditions, it should remain full...

Does your 84-89 Cluster have the Cruise Option?

I get this question quite a bit - Does My 84-89 Cluster have Cruise Control?  Here's how to tell:1)  Remove the five screws holding on the back.  They're 7/32".2)  Remove the back.3)  Look at the space to the left of the power supply.  The power supply is the small board mounted to the top board in the upper right corner, near the 12 pin connector that connects the top and bottom boards.  If the components in this area are populated, your cluster has the cruise option.  If not, your cluster does not support cruise.Below are photos of this area: The...
